It's time for dentists to take a social media route to stay in touch with their customers

"The mark of a true professional is giving more than you get.” – Robert Kirby
Mr. Social wants to get back to his profession. He longs to be a dentist again. His wishes to wipe away the dust on his old dental clinic and enliven it again with his name sparkling on it! After all, why not! He’s not so old to retire! He’s still social, smart and young at heart. To top it all, he has an account on both Facebook and Twitter, which means he has bright chances to make it big all over again!
Yes, you almost got me! Here are some ways you can give your profession a flight through social media. If you’ve an account on any of the networking sites, well enough; if not then make one. Create a page for yourself and learn the ways of ‘being professional’ in the cyber space!

1. Woo your clients!
“And to any new fans we made along the way, I say... welcome to our party. It's just starting to get going.” – Richard Marx
Make it look afresh every time a fan joins you! You can woo them by getting your page an attractive and apt welcome to your clients! Make them know they’ve visited your chambers. Provide all the necessary details like your area of specialization, your clientage, your academic degrees, charges etc. Display the information to make your fans know better about you. Draw attention by flashing all the details the way you do it in your own office! Catch up the welcome tab.
2. Picture it!

Click your office from every nook and corner and bring it to your fan page. Showcase it and flaunt it! Your followers must get a real feel of visiting your work place. Show them how organized and managed you’re! I’m sure everybody would be lured to visit an enigmatic office! As Johann Wolfgang von Goethe says, “Objects in pictures should so be arranged as by their very position to tell their own story…” So, make your pictures say it all through the showcase tab.
3. Help them locate you
Besides dropping your address on your page, you also need to make it easy for your visitors to find you! Give them a map that would take them to the exact location where you’re located! Be client-friendly (and eventually, make profit!) Use the map it tab to give your page a “map-over”!
4. Trick with gifts!

Sounding weird? Well… of course, you’re no marketer to do that, yet it’s an option! You can distribute your fans coupons. Say, a free dental check-up on a certain day or free consultancy coupon etc. Think an attractive and reasonable service which you can provide for free for one day. Make it available, do your job well and just watch your clientage graphs! .

5. Exhibit your research
You’re a specialist, aren’t you? So, why not share it with your dear fans! Be a doctored professional. Share the knowledge among the people who ‘like’ you. Give them an extra edge to know better about you. Your documents and research would explain much of the study you’ve undergone. Also, when your fans ‘like’ your particular documents, it would flash on their friends’ walls, thus producing a viral effect! Use the document tab to share your knowledge with your fans!
6. Or, put up a good show!
The reference is to a slide-show! If you think it’s tedious for a layman to go through the long research paper, you can always make an entertaining slide-show for them! Since you need a “You need a system to succeed. Talent is never enough.” (George Torok), you need to catch up with the world! The “system” for you is the easier way out i.e. powerpoint presentations. Use pictures and make your research-cum-presentation entertaining!
7. Club your Facebook and Twitter
Use the two most popular sites to the optimum! Merge your Facebook and Twitter accounts, and tweet on your Facebook too! Make your updates viral by reaching out to the maximum people you can! Make success with by sharing, posting, tweeting and uploading together! Create a mosaic of social networks on your page!
So, Mr. Social, here you go! Hope every tooth ache is treated by you now!
*Thumbs up*
